Fall fun + field trip

We had lots going on this past month! My friend, Jennifer, threw a small Halloween party for the two-year-olds; her son, Braeden, Casey's daughter Lucy, and Riley. They played with Braeden's train table and toys, played games Jennifer had put together, ate festive snacks, and wore themselves out.

Jennifer made these jack o' lantern sandwiches--free hand!

She also put together "pin the nose on the pumpkin" and bowling for "ghosts"--Riley loved it! She got so creative.

Later after James was home from school, we had a cookie decorating party with our meet up group. The kids were looking so cute in their fall colors, I had to snag a photo op before they were covered in icing!

We had a pretty good turn out. Lots of kids to get sugared up!

Everyone was more interested in eating the toppings and icing rather than putting them on cookies.

James's cookie: surprise surprise--m&m's!

Riley's cookies, with half-eaten/scraped off icing. There were no m&m's because he ate all of his already.

James's class had their first field trip to the pumpkin patch.

Riley and I came along. He loved being there with the big kids! He's always dying to stay at school when James goes in the mornings.

They went on a hayride, took some pictures, went on a hunt for the "pirate pumpkin", then each of the kids got to pick out their own small pumpkin to take home. Riley was happy to tote James's pumpkin around.

There was koi fish pond with the biggest koi I've ever seen. Riley was fascinated--I was afraid he was going to jump in! James hung out on the deer statues with some of his buddies.

After the pumpkin patch, we all had lunch at Burger King. The playground was large and outdoors, so all the kids got to wear themeslves out and I got to chat with some of the other parents.
